Eczema Cream Recipe – Featuring Lavender & Tea Tree Oil

According to the National Eczema Association:

“Eczema is the name for a group of conditions that cause the skin
to become red, itchy and inflamed. There are several types of eczema:
atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, nummular
eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and stasis dermatitis.

It’s most common for babies and children to develop eczema on their
face (especially the cheeks and chin), but it can appear anywhere on the
body and symptoms may be different from one child to the next. Adults
can develop eczema, too, even if they never had it as a child. “

The Mayo Clinic explains:

“No cure has been found for atopic dermatitis. But treatments and
self-care measures can relieve itching and prevent new outbreaks. For
example, it helps to avoid harsh soaps, moisturize your skin regularly,
and apply medicated creams or ointments.”

In most cases, the commercial creams used to treat it are full of
steroids and other harmful ingredients, that just numb its symptoms, but
do not treat the root cause. On the other hand, the following natural
homemade eczema cream is completely natural, so it can treat it in a
safe and effective way.

Its base is shea butter, raw local honey, and coconut oil.

Shea butter is excellent for dry skin, as it moisturizes it, while
coconut oil offers powerful antibacterial properties. Honey will kill
any bacteria and prevent eczema flare up. Moreover, it contains
essential oils that soothe skin infections.

Lavender essential oil has potent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and
anti-fungal qualities, while tea tree oil is another perfect oil for the
treatment of eczema and psoriasis.

You can also add geranium oil, and myrrh oil, which fight inflammation and infection in the body.
